Cupping is an Ancient Eastern medicine technique using suction to decrease inflammation and pain while increasing circulation to help the body self-heal!
Chi is the life force energy that flows through every living thing. A person with balanced Chi will feel full of energy, joy, and zest for life.
Remember watching Michael Phelps in the prime of his Olympic career? Recall those circular bruises (he wore like a badge of honor) on his back and shoulders? That’s cupping! Used for centuries in homeopathic medicine, silicone cups “suck” up tissue to allow blood to flood to the area, moving stagnant blood away and fresh, oxygenated blood in its place. Literally, feeding the muscle and tissue to bring it back to homeostasis (BALANCE).
Benefits of Cupping:
Pain Relief * Increased Blood Flow * Release of Toxins * Increased Lymphatic Circulation * Decrease Inflammation * Strengthen Immunity * Decrease appearance of Cellulite with frequent treatments * Relaxation * Anxiety Reduction * Decreased Edema (water retention)
Treatment Types
To achieve long term benefits for chronic ailments, a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended, 4 weeks apart. Then, return for treatments as needed, or recommended by your therapist.
Contraindications include bleeding disorders or use of blood thinners. Cupping does cause “bruising” from the suction cup in a localized spot from separating tissue and exchange of blood flow. These marks are not painful and disappear in 3 to 5 days. This is totally normal and part of the process. Severity of the “darkness” of the mark depends on the adhesive quality in your own skin tissue.
